![]() ![]() Miz will eke out a win here and Cesaro will take the strap at Extreme Rules. Maryse and Miz are too good a heel act and too crafty to drop the title when this feud is just starting. Pick: Mizīill Hanstock: Cesaro will win his first Intercontinental title soon, but not just yet. Let Miz's resurgence continue as champ until Extreme Rules, put over the Maryse partnership by having her help pull this one out and get Cesaro his long overdue second title in New Jersey on the 22nd. With another PPV in just a few weeks, I expect a lot of "to be continued"s and this is one of them. Sean Rueter: Another one I could see going either way, and where both guys could use the win. ![]() Geno Mrosko: No outcome would be a surprise here but if they're buying into Cesaro, it's probably a good idea not to beat him so soon after his return, even if it involves Maryse helping her husband keep his title. That will keep AJ from having to take a squeaky clean loss while keeping the belt on THE guy Roman. With the inclusion of the former Bullet Club in this match, my bet would be they cost AJ his win, likely by accident when they are trying to give him unwanted help during the match. Kyle Decker: There's little to no chance they take the title off of Roman after they seemed to go through painstaking measures to put it on him at WrestleMania. It's not the most exciting ending, but WWE probably intends to drag this out for a while. Instead, I think Gallows and Anderson will try to attack Reigns but accidentally nail Styles, costing him the match. However I don't anticipate that question will be answered at Payback. The true mastermind who is controlling Gallows and Anderson is going to be one of Styles, Reigns, Balor, or The Authority. I don't expect Styles to walk out with the championship, so it's a matter of figuring out how Roman retains the strap. Knight: These guys should have a really fun match, though it might be difficult to bite on any false finishes that occur before Gallows and Anderson interfere. Gallows and Anderson will get involved and either beat down Styles, leading to his loss, or Styles will fight them off only to get caught by Roman's finishers. He's also not the guy behind the Whatever Club's attacks. Pick: Roman Reignsīill Hanstock: Yeah, Styles isn't winning the world title on Sunday. Arguments over Anderson & Gallows involvement distract AJ into taking the loss, hopefully towards the end of a strong match. And I think we're staying the course with everyone as something other than clear cut heels for a little while longer. With that out of the way, the discussion becomes about how we get there. Sean Rueter: No real reason to go against the bookies on this one, because there's no way - face or heel - that Roman's reign ends after a month. I don't care if Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson, and Finn Balor in demon paint all show up to to assist that, it's simply not happening. Geno Mrosko: There is no universe that exists where Vince McMahon is going to put his heavyweight championship on AJ Styles over Roman Reigns. _ WWE PAYBACK PREDICTIONS Roman Reigns vs. ![]() Luckily for you Cagesiders, our staff of learned wrestling blowhards is here to help figure out just how the event is going to play out with predictions for each match on the card.
